The most famous attraction in Belhaven just happens to be within a few minutes of the Historic Fairview Inn, and it’s one of our favorite places to send our guests. You’ll especially love it if you’re a literature major or a recreational bookworm. The Eudora Welty House is open for tours and lets you discover the American writer’s world through her furniture and artifacts. Eudora Welty was recognized internationally and even won the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for her book The Optimist’s Daughter. She lived in this house from 1925 until her death in 2001, so you’ll really get to experience a step back through the 20th century!
