Beyond our luxurious guest rooms, you may explore our Civil War library with over 2,000 books, some over 100 years old, depicting life during and after the Civil War. You can swing in the hammock or sip lemonade, sweet tea, or a miny julep in the many rocking chairs on the property. Learn about our native flora and fauna by visiting our gardens or the hoome of Pulitzer Prize winner, Eudora Welty, who lived just around the corner from the Inn. Venture out into Jackson and explore our museums and art galleries or take in a minor leagur baseball game. Take the day off and go shopping at Renaissance Outdoor Mall or nearby Fondren, for antiques and collectible stores. Relax and unwind with a game of golf at nearby LeFleur State Park or walk to and visit the Children’s Museum. Experience the Canton Balloon Festival, Vicksburg’s Civil War re-enactments, Symphony Pops by the Rez, or tour the Nissan plant. Or stay on property and check out our “History Wall” and “Wall of Fame,” which tell the stories of the Inn, past and present. Regardless of your interests, there is plenty to do on sunny or rainy days at the Fairview Inn.
