Spring Into The City With Soul

Just like the blooms that thrive in the Spring, so does Jackson. The season of celebrations, festivals, & parades is right around the corner and we have created a list of activities that are coming to the City with Soul this Spring Season.

Every Tuesday our onsite bar/restaurant, the Library Lounge hosts trivia night. Once each month we host a themed trivia night. With a new season on the horizon we have created a new themed trivia calendar.

February 21st:  Black History Month Trivia Night

March 14th: Disney Themed Trivia Night

April 18th: 80s Themed Trivia Night

May 9th: Marvel Themed Trivia Night

June 6th: International Themed Trivia Night

The Dixie National Rodeo is back this year starting on February 10th. It is no secret that Jackson’s Dixie National is one of the best events of the year. Many folks come out to enjoy the rodeo entertainment, live stock shows, cowboyin’, and concerts! This year the live entertainment is even better with artists like Laney Wilson and Chris Lane. The Ms Blues Marathon will take place in downtown Jackson on February 25th, 2023. You can choose between a marathon, half marathon, 10k, or a 5k, you can even tackle this race as a team with your friends! Check it out and enjoy the great food throughout the race, great music, and more. If you’re not a runner… There is still a street party to support those who are participating in the race! Spring Break “Week of Wonder” in Jackson’s LeFleur Museum District will take place from March 13th – 17th. Four of Jackson’s award winning museums are offering spring break events that focus on a certain subject each day. The museums in the LeFleur Museum District are: MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Sciencethe Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Mississippi Children’s Museum. District Thursdays are back starting on March 2nd!

The District at Eastover starts their live music on the green on March 2nd. The kiddos love this event and its weekly! Check it out here.

Run The Rainbow for Children’s Half Marathon: March 18th

This annual 5k will be on March 18th, 2023. This 5k is held in support of the Children’s of Mississippi – the states only children’s hospital.The beginning and ending of the 5k will be at Hal & Mals downtown Jackson. Though, this is not only a 5k – the 2023 event is also offering 10k and half marathon routes through downtown Jackson, Belhaven, and UMMC campus. Participants will received race swag and admission into the St. Paddy’s after party at Hal & Mal’s. For more info or to get tickets click here.

The Hal  & Mal’s St. Paddy”s Day Parade and Festival is back on the 25th of March!!

This is a Jackson event that you CAN’T miss! What started in 1983 has grown into an annual event for Jackson that brings in a huge crowd of folks. The festivities are endless in downtown Jackson! Learn more here.

Eudora Welty House and Garden will host their Heirloom Plant Sale on the 1st of April. This event is run by the Cereus Weeder Garden Volunteers, and it is the only annual fundraiser to directly benefit the Welty Garden. Sales start at 9 am! Learn more here.
