One-Night Stay – Day One:

3:00pm – Check in to Fairview Inn. 

4:00pm – Walk over to The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen in time for happy hour drinks. 

5:00pm – Explore the Fairview’s intimate property and walk the garden maze. Can you find the hidden hammock? 

6:00pm – Take some time to freshen up before dinner. 

7:00pm – Enjoy dinner and cocktails on the Library Lounge patio underneath the grand Magnolia tree. There are plenty of patio heaters to keep you cozy! 

9:00pm – Take advantage of the Fairview’s private fire pit, located by the gardens. 

 

One-Night Stay – Day Two: 

8:30am – Fuel up for the day with a complimentary made-to-order breakfast at the Fairview Inn. 

9:30am – Check out of the Fairview Inn. 

 

Option One: Jackson Itinerary 

10:00am – Feeling like getting in some exercise? Walk or drive over to Laurel Street Park, and head all the way to the back of the park to find a nature trail. This forest path leads you to the new Museum TrailTake a right down this paved pathway, and you will end up across from the Mississippi Farmers Market. 

11:00am – Cross the street to explore the Two Mississippi MuseumsDepending on the amount of time you have to spare, you will definitely want to explore the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum exhibits. And be sure to leave some time to check out Mississippi Distilled: Prohibition, Piety, and Politics at the Museum of Mississippi History. Did you know that although national prohibition lasted for 13 years, in Mississippi it lasted 58 years? 

1:00pm – Stay in downtown Jackson for a delicious lunch. Craving some authentic Southern soul food? Have a lunch plate at Sugar’s Place and you will not be disappointed. If you are feeling more adventurous, try Shiro Ethiopian RestaurantWith plenty of vegetarian meals and options for meat-lovers, you might just find a new favorite food. 

2:00pm – Stroll over to the Mississippi Museum of Art to discover the free exhibit: Leonardo Drew: City in the Grass. Located in the 1.2-acre Art Gardenthis 100-foot-long and 30footwide public art installation is sure to spark your interest. Plus, you are encouraged to sit, stand, and walk on and around the sculpture to truly interact with it. 

 

Option Two: Flora Itinerary 

10:30am – Drive to Flora and take a relaxing walking tour through the Mississippi Petrified Forest on a shady paved trail among the ancient trees. 

12:00pm – Enjoy an outdoor lunch at The Gathering at Livingston Mercantile, with plenty of options to please all palates. If you want to have genuine Japanese Wagyu beef without breaking the bank, try Dave’s Triple B, who recently relocated to downtown Flora. Or, if you are in are in the mood for a quality burger or sandwich with all the fixings, check out The Blue Rooster. 

1:00pm – After lunch, walk around downtown Flora and do some window shopping. 

 

Two-Night Stay – Day One: 

3:00pm – Check in to Fairview Inn.

9:30am – Grab lunch to go from old-timey Brent’s Drugs to bring with you on the road. You might even recognize the inside of the restaurant from the movie, The Help! 

10:00am – Drive to Ridgeland and discover the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway. There are numerous pullouts along the main road with great views, but we especially like the Reservoir Overlook. You can even access the 10-mile Natchez Trace Multi-Use Trail from there as well. When you get hungry, just unpack your picnic lunch. 

1:00pm – Pop by Urban Foxes outdoor café on the way back for an afternoon coffee with a  piece of pie or a scone. We recommend the Good Grief peanut butter pie, or the bacon cheddar scones, but you really can’t go wrong. 

3:30pm – Head back to the Fairview to freshen up. 

4:00pm – Stop by Highland Village; it’s not only a great place to walk around and shop, but you can enjoy happy hour outside at Aplos until 6pm. 

6:00pm – When you’re ready for dinner, choose from local favorites like BRAVO!Char, or Crazy Cat Eat Up, which all have outdoor seating. 

8:00pm – After dinner, take advantage of the Fairview’s private fire pit, located by the gardens. 

 

Two-Night Stay – Day Three: 

8:30am – Enjoy one last Southern breakfast at the Fairview Inn before you head back home. 

11:00am – Check out time. We can’t wait to see you again soon!
